Minds of Mountainfilm: Dr. John Francis

Film producer Tom Shadyac sits down with "The Planet Walker" Dr. John Fancis to discuss Francis' remarkable life. After viewing an oil spill in 1971, Dr. Francis refused to use any vehicle dependent upon oil, walking wherever he needed to go for 22 years, and maintaining a vow of silence for 17 years. During this period of time, he pursued a college education, achieved a doctorate, was a college professor and served as an environmental analyst for the Coast Guard. Dr. Francis discusses his upcoming biopic with Shadyac, his thoughts on Mountainfilm, and his unique and inclusive definition of environment.
